5 Tips to Get Coaching Clients

with Facebook Ads

Facebook ads are often thought of as the perfect answer to your client-attracting problems. Run a few ads, and people will start calling you, right?

Um, no.

Facebook ads are often thought of as the perfect answer to your client-attracting problems. Run a few ads, and people will start calling you, right?

Um, no.

Like any marketing method, Facebook ads (or Linkedin ads, or Instagram ads) need to be done well.

So I?ve collected my 5 tips to get coaching clients with Facebook ads for you!

Tip 1: Make the offer specific and juicy.

Many coaches try to get clients with vague-sounding promises like ?Change your life in 5 minutes? or ?how to completely transform your life??

Most of these aren?t believable, and they aren?t very client-attracting, even though they may be true!

SOLUTION: Instead, choose a specific transformation that your initial offer will help with. Is it productivity, and time? Or something specific about relationships? (Again, you wouldn?t offer a freebie called ?improve your relationship? but instead ?5 things NOT to say to your partner after work.?

Tip 2:?Know what your metrics mean.

So what does it mean when people are clicking on your ad? Are they opting in for your offer?

Case 1: When people are clicking on your ad, but not opting in for your offer, congratulations! You?ve got a good ad, but not a good freebie (or other offer!)?

Case 2: If not that many people are clicking on your ad, but the people who do mostly all opt-in, you?ve got a problem with your audiences. You need to show it to more, or different, people.

SOLUTION: In the first case, you probably don?t need to tweak the ad, you need to change the offer. Try changing the title, or the promise of the freebie. For the second case, you?ll want to look at different audiences or do a better job of identifying your ideal client.

Tip 3:?It?s not about the ad, it?s the journey.

An ad is only a doorway to introduce people to you and your work. Once you get them in the doorway, what do you do? Is your freebie compelling? What do you ask them to do after they opt-in? Is the path forward clear to them, or are they just left to explore your website and wonder where they should go??

SOLUTION: Planning out the journey – what most call the funnel – is a critical part of successful ads on any platform. There are many different ways to design your funnel, and different structures work better for different businesses.?

Tip 4:?Be prepared to test, test, test (and tweak).

Starting to run ads to a funnel is not like pushing ?play? on your marketing campaign and have it all done. You?ll want to test items like different wording, possibly different colors, different offers, different prices??

SOLUTION: When you start to run ads, look at your metrics and see what parts are working. Usually, you?ve got one or two parts right, and need to tweak the other parts. Try something different on the part that isn?t working, and see what happens! Also, remember that a ?great funnel design? is not a replacement for great copy and good marketing ideas. Training yourself to write great copy is a fundamental skill for successful ads.

Tip 5:?Consider boosted posts or FB lives as a way to start.

Want to get started, but you?re a little bit afraid? Post your blog to Facebook, and boost it for $5/day, or just $5 total. You?ll get it in front of more people without the hassle of building the funnel.?

You can also do Facebook Lives, and boost them with $5/day for a week. You?ll get MANY more views, and getting in front of potential clients with video is a great way for them to get to know you.
