to Merge Strategy and Mindset

I?ve bounced back and forth on the question ?Which is more important, strategy or mindset??

I?ve finally come to the (not surprising) conclusion that you need both. *duh* Let?s call it the combo platter.

I?ve bounced back and forth on the question ?Which is more important, strategy or mindset??

I?ve finally come to the (not surprising) conclusion that you need both. *duh* Let?s call it the combo platter.

But how do know what you need NOW? If you go for the wrong one, you?ll end up wasting time, wasting money, and being VERY frustrated!

Even with a combo platter, you eat one thing at a time 🙂

I?ve made a checklist to help you know what you need in the moment. This is the same process that I use myself that helps create success in my business.

As you look through the checklist, ask yourself the questions associated with each step. Then you can determine what you need and move forward powerfully!

Strategy & Mindset Priority Checklist:

1) Strategic Direction

The question to ask: Do I know where to start?

If you?re faced with a situation in which you say, ?I don?t even know where to start!? You?re lacking Strategic Direction.? An example is ?I have something to sell, but I have no idea where to find customers/clients.?

This shows a need for a big-picture marketing strategy. You don?t need tactics like ?here?s how to run a Facebook ad?. You need to learn from someone what the strategy is, so you can make good decisions about tactics.

(Hint: you may also need to look at #7!)

2)?Tactical Know-How

The question to ask: Do I know HOW to do this?

For example, sometimes I tell clients ?reach out to potential referral partners. That?s a good strategy to get clients. However, if you don?t know HOW to reach out, you won?t succeed, even if the idea is a good one.

3) Prioritization

The question to ask: Do I know what to do first?

Overwhelm sets in when you believe that everything on your to-do list is of equal urgency. When you know what to do first, you can calmly schedule your most important items on your calendar.

4) Practice

The question to ask: Do I know what to do, and how to do it, but I?m not competent with it yet?

This is the bridge between Strategy, and Mindset. Decide whether you need to say, ?I?m working to improve that now? or ?I?m already competent and comfortable with that.?

??I know that? isn?t a useful thing to say. You probably don?t ?know it?… you ?know about it?. There?s a world of difference between those two, when you?re implementing in your business.

5) Discomfort

The question to ask: Do I enjoy, or feel comfortable, with the activity that I need to do?

If you?re uncomfortable with it, you?ll procrastinate it. Or not do it well. If this question isn?t answered as a resounding ?yes? then that?s the mindset area to work on.

6) Outcome anxiety

The question to ask: Do I enjoy the activity, but I?m nervous about the outcome?

It?s amazing how many people will delay publishing their websites, or writing their books, because they?re afraid of criticism. That?s a great example of ?I like the process, but I don?t want to complete this.’

Definitely a mindset challenge, and you?ll want to focus on that.

7)?Resistance

The question to ask: Is there a part of me that feels out of alignment with this?

Often, I work with people who are afraid to charge high-ticket. They believe that asking for large sums of money, no matter how great the transformation that they provide, is somehow ?wrong?.?

That?s resistance. All the strategy in the world won?t help you overcome that – you need mindset work.

So, what?s the number 1 thing you need to work on?
