I was at an event last weekend, and struggling with a challenge in my business.?
One of the speakers at the event was a friend of mine named Mary Morrissey, who runs a coach training company and is one of the most spiritually powerful people I know. While we were chatting, she asked how I was doing, and I named the challenge.?
She could tell I was in fear, and not feeling powerful.
She asked an awesome question that turned me around instantly. It got me thinking of the other questions that I love to ask (or be asked!) when an attitude adjustment is needed.
Here are 3 of my favorite energy-shifters:

1) How will you feel if this resolves the way that you want it to?
This is the question that Mary asked me. I could picture that resolution, and I felt the emotional relief of having the
challenge resolved. I smiled when I saw that, and Mary said ?That?s the energy that you need to stay in! Anything else is resisting the good.?
Since then, the challenge has shifted. It?s not gone, but it?s much less of an issue, and I?ve used the questions below to maintain a great attitude!
2) Who are you committed to being in this situation?
Sometimes when we?re upset, we show a side of ourselves (if only in our heads, or to a spouse) that?s angry, or vindictive, or we claim to be a victim. When you?re a transformational entrepreneur, it?s important to be as powerful as you can in all situations.?
Even if the challenge you?re facing is personal and not business-related, you want to train yourself to be compassionate, forgiving, and powerful in that part of your life. It makes it easier to be that person in your business life as well, which is an area where you may not feel as powerful.
This doesn?t mean that you will not pursue payment on a contract, insist on good standards from your team or vendors, or engage in other good business practices. But you can do that from an energy of compassionate power, rather than nervous nagging.
3) What can you be grateful for in this situation?
This is always one of my favorite questions! This question allows you to reframe your situation and look for the good in it. It also allows you to consider outcomes that might arise from the situation that you hadn?t considered? good outcomes, even better than you had previously anticipated.
The other support this question gives you is the opportunity to learn from a challenging situation. If you let upset block your calm, considered reflection on a situation, you risk repeating the situation because you haven?t learned from it. Adopting an approach of gratitude will help you absorb the valuable lessons that are there for you.
