3 Tips To Stay Inspired When You Feel Overwhelmed!

One of my mentors recently said ?Overwhelm has replaced ignorance as the biggest problem of the small business owner.?
SO true!?
Compared to 10 years ago, I don?t see people saying ?I don?t know what to do.? Instead, they?re telling me all the tactics that they HAVE tried? that didn?t work. And they don?t know why.

Are you feeling like you?re paddling as fast as you can, overwhelmed by what you should be doing? and can?t figure out how to make it all work? It?s hard to stay inspired like that!?
No worries, I?ve got your back. It?s just that there?s something vital that?s missing.
Read these 3 tips to get your mojo back, stay inspired, and calm the overwhelm.
1: Get Strategy, not Tactics.
A woman came to my event a year ago, and said that she had just started taking piano lessons. Her teacher had offered her this choice:
?I can teach you how to play a song or two, and you?ll sound impressive, but just for that song. You won?t be a musician. Or I can teach you to be a musician. It will take longer, but you?ll be able to play more songs, and you?ll be so much more accomplished and versatile in the long run.?
To her credit, she chose to take the ?teach me to be a musician? path.
Lots of people trying to build a transformational business are being told ?Just learn a song?. For example: ?this one marketing strategy will be all you?ll need, ever!? (NOT true.) You need to learn marketing, and sales, and business – it?s like learning to be a musician. If you know this, and you?re taking that approach – kudos to you!?
Be inspired by the fact that you?ve chosen what may look like the more difficult path, but in the end, is the one with lasting rewards.
2: Think Globally, Act Locally
When you have a big vision, it?s easy to get caught up in wanting everything to be big.
It?s easy to say:
?I don?t want to speak to 10 people? I should be speaking to hundreds.?
?I don?t want to find 2 new clients? I want a full client roster.?
But the phrase that has inspired people around the environment can also be adopted for your business.?
Think Big? Take (small) Action
Don?t stop yourself because your actions seem small at first, or your results take time to get traction.
Be inspired by the fact that you?re taking action towards your goals. It?s the small actions that can lead to your big vision, and big impact.
3: Gratitude, Intention, Action
Since you?re reading this blog, you?re probably already one of the people that knows that gratitude is one of the best ?happy pills? available. No cost, no negative side effects 🙂
You can use gratitude every day to increase your happiness and inspiration in your business. Once you do that, though – what?s next? Intention, and action – like this!
- Use gratitude to clear your mind, and your energy, so you?re feeling fully resourced.
- Go to your goal list, or your to-do list, to create a clear intention for the day, or just the next hour.
- Once you?ve clarified the intention, don?t stop! Instead, start taking action right away. You?ll be amazed at how much you get done when your energy and your intention are clear.
